The three categories of my web site might have been better defined. People are listed in “People, Places, Reflections,” but sometimes people are “Recommendations.” Nicholas Kristof is a recommendation. 

Human rights, women’s rights, health, global affairs—these are issues that get the attention of this columnist for The New York Times. I only know Kristof from limited exposure to his writing. But I like what he says, the way he thinks, and his diligent research. He is fair, thorough, compassionate.

The place Kristof grew up creates a bit of resonance with me: (1) on a farm, and (2) approximately 15 miles from where I live.

This morning (May 6, 2018) Kristof gave me some good advice about not getting sucked into becoming more interested in what the President has done, spoken, or Tweeted than important issues that plague so many people around the globe (Our Addiction to Trump).
